Elisabeth Judson Shue, the sister of Andrew Shue, is my 11th paternal cousin. We share common 10x Great Grandparents Henry Burt & Eulalia Marche.

 

Elisabeth was born on October 6, 1963, in Wilmington, Delaware. Elizabeth's mother, Anne Brewster, is my 10th cousin.

 

Elisabeth is a very accomplished film and TV actor with many memorable roles. Elisabeth starred in the1987 movie Adventures in Babysitting, co-starred in The Karate Kid (1984), Tom Cruise

s love interest in Cocktail (1988), played Marty McFly's girlfriend in the Back To The Future Part II (1989) and Back To The Future Part III (1990) and starred alongside my other cousin, Kevin Back, in Hollow Man (2000). For her role in the 1995 film, Leaving Las Vegas (starring alongside Nicholas Cage), she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress.

 

Elisabeth also played the role of Julie Finlay ("Fin") from 2012-2015 on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, one of my favourite TV dramas.

 

Until recently, I had no idea that Elisabeth and her brother, Andrew Shue, were my cousins. It is odd to find out you are directly related to people that you have watched on film and TV for decades. Elisabeth is an amazing actress as clearly shown by her 39 movie roles, 10 TV roles and many awards and nominations she has garnered for her work.

 

Elisabeth is married to film director David Guggenheim and together the couple has 3 children, Miles William (1997), Stella Street (2001) and Agnes Charles (2006).

 

Elisabeth Shue, an accomplished actress and, although I have never met her, a fascinating member of my family.
