Lionel "The Train" Conacher

I recently discovered that I am related to the very well known sports family, the Conacher's. This relationship is through the marriage of my 4th Great Aunt, Grace McLagan, to James Conacher.

Today's post is about my 3rd cousin, Lionel Conacher, who was truly one of Canada's greatest athletes in football, lacrosse and hockey. A 2 time winner of the Stanley Cup (once with the Chicago Blackhawks and once with the Montreal Maroons), Lionel was truly a Canadian sports legend.
